Community Security today received accreditation from the SSAIB (Security Systems & Alarms Inspections Board), meaning we now adhere to the highest independently assessed quality assurance framework in the UK. A full press release including photographs is available in PDF format here

Community Security's usage of the Manchester Metronet Wireless infrastructure is discussed in the May 2007 issue of SMT (Security Management Today), including the following quote from Chief Inspector John McNeil of the GMP;

"Using the wireless network, GMP no longer faces CCTV 'blind spots', enabling us to work in partnership with local communities in a concerted bid to suppress nuisance activity and criminal behaviour. We can also install cameras for temporary 'live' covert monitoring when we are fighting serious crime."

Community Security and Northwards Housing (home page here) have announced a major upgrade and installation scheme for CCTV, monitoring and physical security over their entire housing stock. An ALMO (Arm's Length Management Organisation), Northwards Housing is responsible for managing over 13000 homes in North Manchester, previously operated by Manchester City Council. Community Security is to construct and operate a specialised CCTV/monitoring control room at their headquarters specifically for the contract.
